The political bloc ACUM invited the Party of Socialists of the Republic of Moldova (PSRM) to public discussions. The announcement was made this morning on the official Facebook Page of the bloc.

“Being concerned about the fact that the process of setting up the Parliament’s working institutions is delayed, the discussion and adoption of laws required to release the state from the captivity of the oligarchic system is blocked, being aware of the social and economic risks resulting from the political uncertainty caused by the lack of a functioning Parliament, reiterating that the de-oligarchization of state institutions is the prime condition for bringing Moldova on the path of normality and returning citizens’ confidence into a democratic and prosperous future of our country, considering the package of anti-oligarchic legislative acts registered with the Parliament’s Secretariat and being open for public debates to improve it, as well as discussing other potential initiatives, the political bloc ACUM invites the PSRM parliamentary faction to public discussions on April 9th, 2019, at 11 am in the conference room of the Parliament of the Republic of Moldova,” the message from the page of the ACUM bloc stated.

The PSRM member Grigore Novac declared, while referring to the invitation launched by ACUM, that he does not know if the invitation is a real one, as the faction has’t received any official invitation and posting on Facebook is not serious, according to TV8. “How can we know for sure that this is their Facebook page and who is generally responsible for publishing this material? […] We didn’t receive any official letter. When we made our invitation, we did it through a press briefing, officially, through delegated people,” Novac said.

At the same time, the PSRM announced that on the same day, the 9th of April, at 10:30 am, the PSRM Political Executive Committee will be convened, which will discuss the next steps of the party in the creation of a parliamentary majority.

According to a press release of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the PM was missing from the Kiev ceremony for “health reasons”, so the Ministry of Foreign Affairs himself, Tudor Ulianovschi, was represented at the ceremony in Moldova.

Several Heads of State were present at Zelenski’s investiture, but Igor Dodon wasn’t among them. However, Dodon had a telephone conversation with Zelenski as a result of which he might have agreed to hold a bilateral meeting.

This is Igor Dodon’s reply after Constitutional Court’s decision that the president can not submit a candidate for the post of PM

President Igor Dodon believes that the election of the Parliament leadership is the only way to overcome the political crisis in the country.

The statement was made for the Russian news agency TASS after the Constitutional Court’s decision that the President of the Republic of Moldova can not submit a candidate to the post of PM in the absence of Parliament’s governing bodies.

“I have mentioned that if until mid-June the governing bodies of the legislature will not be established, I will have to sign the decree of dissolving the Parliament and appointing the date of organizing early parliamentary elections,” warns President Dodon on his Facebook page.

The president stressed that this scenario “is not good” for Moldova, given the risks of stopping investment projects in infrastructure, the emergence of risks in the budgetary system, postponing the creation of the Government and conducting local elections.

We recall that according to the decision of the CC, the impossibility of meeting the Parliament because of the lack of the organ convening it implies the impossibility of the President of the Republic of Moldova to appoint a candidate for the post of PM.
