Moldovan President Vladimir Voronin Wednesday met EU Special Representative to Moldova Adriaan Jacobovits de Szeged. <\/p>\n

The two officials spoke about the coming round of negotiations in the 5+2 format on the Transdniestrian issue, about the activity of the EU border assistance mission to Moldova and Ukraine and the role it could play in the implementation of the Joint Moldovan and Ukrainian Prime Ministers’ Statement regarding the regulation of goods’ transport through the Moldovan-Ukrainian border. <\/p>\n

According to the presidential press service, Mr Jacobovits appreciated Moldovan authorities’ position that the legalization of the enterprises from the left bank of the Dniester will have a positive impact on Transdniestrian economic agents’ activity and on the negotiations over the special legal status of the region. <\/p>\n

Vladimir Voronin and Adriaan Jacobovits de Szeged have exchanged opinions about the composition of the future OSCE Assessment Mission to Transdniestria, which is to make recommendations as concerns the organization of free and democratic elections in the region. <\/p>\n
