The next round of Transdniestrian settlement negotiations in the “5+2” format will take place in the offices of the OSCE Mission in Tiraspol and Chisinau on 26 and 27 January 2006. <\/p>\n

Delegations will be led by Moldovan Minister for Reintegration, Vasile Sova, Transdniestrian Chief Negotiator Valeri Litskai, the Head of the OSCE Mission to Moldova, Ambassador William Hill, Russian Ambassador at Large Valeri Nesterushkin, Ukrainian Special Representative Ambassador Dmitry Tkach, EU Special Representative for Moldova, Ambassador Adriaan Jacobovits de Szeged, and Deputy Assistant Secretary for European and Eurasian Affairs at the U.S. Department of State, David Kramer. <\/p>\n

The agenda for this round of negotiations includes questions related to the economic relationships between the sides, the prospects for an assessment mission to Transdniestria, the exchange of military information as proposed in the package of Confidence and Security Building Measures as well the monitoring of enterprises of the military-industrial complex in Transdniestria and the situation in the security zone. <\/p>\n

As agreed during the last negotiation round on 16 December, the OSCE Mission has drafted and sent to the sides a mandate for an international assessment Mission to Transdniestria, a protocol on the monitoring of facilities of the military-industrial complex as well as proposals for the establishment of a joint working group tasked to find ways to ensure that the inhabitants of Moldovan villages on the left bank can work their fields situated in areas under Transdniestrian control. \/\/ Reporter.MD<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
