Moldovan President had a telephone conversation with his Romanian counterpart Traian Basescu. The two heads of state conferred on how to ensure the energy security of Moldova under soaring gas prices. <\/p>\n

The two presidents have also discussed the prospects of the bilateral cooperation between the two countries in different areas, presidential press service informs. <\/p>\n

The price of Russian gas will go up as from 1 January 2006, both for Moldova and Romania. The gas price for Moldova will be increased from 80 to 160 dollars per thousand cubic meters and for Romania from 230 to 260 dollars per thousand cubic meters. <\/p>\n
