Moldovan President Vladimir Voronin requested that the Government allocate financial resources to compensate the peasants living on the left bank of the Dniester for the losses they suffered because they were not allowed to work their lands. <\/p>\n

The chief of state Monday convened a meeting where he instructed that the term of legalizing free of charge and according to a simplified procedure the documents confirming the Moldovan citizenship of the residents of the Transdniestrian region should be extended. He asked the Government to examine the possibility of creating a free economic zone Cosnita-Parata-Dorotcaia and of opening a branch of Banca de Economii (Savings Bank) in Cosnita. In this connection, Vladimir Voronin proposed that a wholesale depot and a filling station be set up in this sector, the transport route Oxentea-Cosnita be opened, the road segment Molovata-Ustia be repaired etc. <\/p>\n

The president entrusted the Ministry of Health and Social Protection with the task to consolidate the pharmaceutical network in Dubasari district and to provide the medical institutions of the district with the necessary medical equipment. <\/p>\n

The head of state announced he would personally monitor the evolution of the problems he identified while on a recent visit to Dubasari district. <\/p>\n

During a round of talks on the Transdniestrian dispute last weekend, it was proposed that the peasants living in the Moldovan villages situated in the security zone be allowed to travel freely in order to be able to work their lands and transport the crop paying a tax of 0.18% of the products’ value.
