A parliamentary subcommission will supervise the activity of the domestic security service SIS. Deputy Speaker Iurie Rosca, a developer of the draft law which empowers the legislature to verify the SIS, will he ad the subcommission. <\/p>\n

The commission for national security, defence and public order approved the members of subcommission on Wednesday. The new structure will supervise how the SIS respects the Constitution and laws which regulate the activity of the SIS. Also, lawmakers wil l not admit the political engagement of the SIS. <\/p>\n

The parliamentary press service quoted Iurie Rosca as saying that this subcommission comes to confirm the political partnership achieved last April and it is part of the context of reformation of SIS, as well as of the increasing control of the parliamen t on SIS. <\/p>\n

The subcommission includes representatives of all parliamentary factions: Maria Postoico and Vladimir Vitiuc on behalf of the Party of Communists; Iurie Rosca, of the Christian Democratic People’s Party; Vladimir Filat, of the Democratic Party; and Alexa ndru Lipcanu, of the Alliance Our Moldova. <\/p>\n
