The GUAM Foreign Ministers convened in Ljubljana within the meeting of the OSCE Ministerial Council. <\/p>\n

The Transdniestrian issue was also discussed during the bilateral meeting of Andrei Stratan and the head of the British delegation, State Minister for Human Rights Ian Pearson. Mr Pearson assured Stratan that the UK and EU back Moldova’s position in the negotiation process and pointed out the importance of the EU border assistance mission to Moldova and Ukraine. <\/p>\n

The same issue was on the agenda of the meeting of the head of the Moldovan diplomacy and the US Assistant Secretary of State for European and Eurasian Affairs Daniel Fried who expressed Washington’s support in the settlement of the Transdniestrian conflict which is regarded as an issue of regional security. <\/p>\n

According to the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration, Andrei Stratan has also met his Irish counterpart Dermot Ahern, Portugese Secretary of State for European Affairs Fernando d’Oliveira Neves and the Minister for Foreign Affairs and External Trade of Iceland Geir H.
