Polls carried out by a number of Moldavian non-governmental organizations before the elections showed that not more than 20% voters planned to participate in the elections. <\/p>\n

Opinions of Moldavian political experts about new attempts to elect the city mayor are unanimous. The analysts share the opinion that both the electorate and the politicians are tired of the elections. The elections on November 27 were the fourth in the year (in March parliamentary elections were held, on July 10 early local elections, on July 24 – local by-elections). The second common idea is that major parties have no winning tactical moves to participate in the local elections until 2007. Most of them did not nominate their candidates on November 27. Those who decided to participate in the election campaign, nominated the “doubles”. Besides, the analysts believe that there were no prominent figures among the candidates at the summer and the recent elections. <\/p>\n
