A delegation of Russia’s State Duma will arrive in Chisinau this week to discuss organization of the meeting of the joint interparliamentary commission on cooperation between the Russian Federal Assembly and Moldovan Parliament. It will be led by Andrei Kokoshin, chairman of the State Duma Committee on CIS Affairs and Relations with Compatriots. <\/p>\n

Chairman of the Moldovan parliament Marian Lupu, who headed Moldova’s delegation at the Council of the CIS Interparliamentary Assembly and at the CIS IPA Plenary Session in Sankt-Petersburg, had bilateral meetings with Serghei Mironov, chairman of the Federal Assembly (Russian Parliament’s Upper Chamber), and Boris Grazlov, chairman of CIS IPA, and with Artur Bagdasarean, his Armenian counterpart, and Nurtai Abikaev, president of the Kazakh Parliament’s Senate. <\/p>\n

According to the press service of the Moldovan Parliament, Marian Lupu, Serghei Mironov and Boris Grazlov agreed on organizing the meeting of the joint interparliamentary commission on cooperation between the Russian Federal Assembly and Moldovan Parliament in the nearest future. The respective structure was created in October 2003 but it had never convened to date. <\/p>\n
