\"\"Moldovan parliament and government representatives, officials of embassies accredited in Chisinau, experts from Belgium, Croatia, Germany, the Netherlands, Romania, Ukraine and the USA participate in an international conference, NATO’s and EU’s Neighbourhood: Political Implications Regarding Moldova’s Security. European Aspirations. The conference is conducted in Chisinau on 14-15 November by the Pro Marshall Centre in Moldova in concert with the Romanian embassy in Moldova. <\/p>\n

The Pro Marshall Centre director, Tatiana Busunciac, told the inauguration ceremony that Moldova’s neighbourhood with NATO, and, in the future, with the European Union, requires Moldova assuming certain commitments as to the edification of an effective and mutually advantageous partnership with the two international structures in order to fulfil the tasks set in the context of common interests of regional security. <\/p>\n

Busunciac voiced hope that the participants in the conference will identify and analyse the already existing risks, threats and vulnerabilities, as well as those that can be detrimental to national security. "The experts will be urged to come out with formulas and mechanisms of cooperation and partnership in the context of NATO’s and the EU’s extension," Busuncian specified. <\/p>\n

Participating in the event, Romanian Ambassador to Moldova Filip Teodorescu said the Moldova has bordered NATO since the organisation’s last extension round. "It is both NATO’s and Moldova’s interests that the country’s future be stable, democratic and prosperous, that Moldova be a country which has irreversibly integrated into the Euro-Atlantic structures," Teodorescu said. The diplomat specified that the Romanian embassy in Chisinau, which serves as a contact point with NATO, commits to back the extension of Moldova’s political dialogue and practical cooperation with the North Atlantic Alliance. <\/p>\n

The participants in the international conference will be presented reports including opinions and experiences in assuring a stability environment in the region.
