On November 2, the Ukrainian Parliament declined to ratify a memorandum, according to which Ukraine would provide NATO with strategic transport aviation for the alliance operation, a REGNUM correspondent reports. The memorandum has been signed in Warsaw in June 2004, but it had to be ratified by Ukrainian parliament to come to effect. Nevertheless, it received only 207 votes of the needed 226 during the recent parliament’s voting. <\/p>\n

According to Head of the Ukrainian State Neutrality Party Vladimir Zubanov quoted as saying by “New Region”, “the results of the voting demonstrates extremely negative perception of tightening cooperation with NATO by Ukrainian society.
