\"\"The Chisinau District Electoral Council (CDEC) registered on Wednesday the last candidate for Chisinau mayoralty, Mircea Rusu, representative of “Our Moldova” Alliance. CDEC refused to register two independent candidates Valeriu Poia and Anatol Soloviov. Thus, the names of eight electoral candidates will be included in the ballot papers. <\/p>\n

Independent candidate Anatol Soloviov, the last to submit documents, has withdrawn the application and the documents after the members of the council traced a number of false signatures in the subscription lists. This is also the reason why the second independent candidate Valeriu Poia was not registered. Poia accused CDEC of executing a political order and said he would call a press conference. <\/p>\n

Nicolae Railean, CDEC member, accused his colleagues of partiality, as false signatures could be found in the lists of another independent candidate, the acting mayor of Chisinau municipality Vasile Ursu. <\/p>\n

According to Railean, CDEC members “passed over” the false signatures found in the subscription lists presented by Ursu. He added that the refusal to register Valeriu Poia is the result of an order coming from above to remove him from the electoral race. <\/p>\n

A number of electoral candidates qualified as illegal the decision to register Vasile Ursu as independent candidate. <\/p>\n

Valentin Krylov, representative of the Electoral Bloc “Patria-Rodina-Ravnopravie”, told REPORTER.MD he would appeal to the Central Electoral Commission (CEC) against the CDEC decision to register Vasile Ursu as independent candidate. He would seek a supplementary analysis of Ursu’s subscription lists. <\/p>\n

Oleg Cernei, candidate on behalf of the Ecological Party “Green Alliance” told REPORTER.MD he would also appeal against the CDEC decision. <\/p>\n

According to Cernei, Ursu would have used administrative methods in collecting the signatures, being helped by heads of municipal organizations and heads of departments from local public administration. <\/p>\n

Mircea Rusu, candidate on behalf of “Our Moldova” Alliance, registered today, said this kind of problems should be solved in line with the stipulations of the legislation, regardless of the candidate. <\/p>\n

Gheorghe Sima, representative of the Labor Union “Patria-Rodina”, stated he would also appeal against Ursu’s registration if he found a reason for this. <\/p>\n

We could not find the acting mayor to interview him. <\/p>\n

Eight candidates will run in elections on November 27, in comparison with ten candidates at the summer elections.
