\"\"Moldovan Minister of Reintegration Vasile Sova regrets that the process of evacuation of Russian munitions is still blocked. Sova voiced hope this problem will be solved in the nearest future, maybe even at the OSCE summit in Ljubljana set for the beginning of December this year. <\/p>\n

Head of the OSCE mission to Chisinau William Hill told in turn that the lack of political will is the cause the evacuation process of Russian ammunition is blocked. “If it appears, the evacuation of the Russian armament could be ended in half a year,” Hill said. <\/p>\n

These statements were made on Friday evening after the negotiations on the Transdniestrian issue in the “5+2” format with the participation of the United States and the European Union as observers. <\/p>\n

Speaking of the evacuation of munitions from the region, representative of Tiraspol at negotiations Valeriu Litkai said these issues would be solved outside the negotiations format, between Russian and the OSCE. “At present there are some difficulties that stop the process of evacuation, but I think some solutions to these problems will be found,” Litkai said. <\/p>\n

Russia’s representative Valeri Nesterushkin told there is a lack of cooperation between the sides during a long time. Sova told in reply that de facto the contract between the sides has never been suspended, adding that Moldova’s and Tiraspol’s representatives have met several times and tackled the problem. <\/p>\n

As to the Russian plan for Transdniestrian conflict settlement, Nesterushkin pointed out that it supplements the Ukrainian plan that will be put under discussion when “the sides are prepared for a constructive dialogue”. Later Nesteruskin said this document would be discussed when the status of the region would be negotiated. <\/p>\n

Vasile Sova stated that “all the initiatives that are or will be presented at the negotiations table must conform to the Ukrainian plan and to the law on Transdniestria’s status. The documents that would run counter to them will not be analyzed.” <\/p>\n

The participants in the negotiations decided to start consultations on the formation of an international mission whose aim would be to assess the situation in the region with a view to organizing democratic elections. They have also agreed on the monitoring of the industrial-military complex from the Transdniestrian region. The next round of negotiations was set for December this year. <\/p>\n

The sides did not agree on the resumption of the meetings of the Unified Control Commission (UCC). <\/p>\n

The parties welcomed the decision to come back to the negotiations table and qualified as benefic the EU and US involvement as observers.
