"Petru Lucinschi is expressing his hope that theParliament, after granting the trust vote to the new Government, willalso proceed to the serious examination of the legislative initiativeregarding the extension of Government attributes, which he haslaunched while appointing his candidate for the position ofPrime-Minister", Presidential Spokesman Anatol Golea declared duringthe weekly briefing.<\/p>\n

According to Mr. Golea, President Lucinschi regrets that around thisdocument, are how held "sterile discussions", and moreover, somenewspapers have advanced serious accusations. In Mr. Golea’s opinion,these "press authorities are activating on behalf of certain politicalparties or on behalf of the owners of these periodic publications", asthe materials have been signed with pseudonyms, a specific discussionswith the Presidential representatives being refused.<\/p>\n

"This is the reason why the President proposed to start thediscussions between deputies, legal authorities, in the Parliamentcommittees, in order to elaborate a documents that would be acceptablefor the entire society and which would not oppose the Constitution",Mr. Golea underlined.<\/p>\n

"The problem of the Government attributes is an older one, it existedfor many years and Mr. Lucinschi believes that now is the suitablemoment to solve it, as in the context of a Government change, theParliament must grant anyway its trust vote to the Government, and itwould be normal for this trust vote to be a total one", Mr. Goleasaid.<\/p>\n

"Otherwise, he added, President Lucinschi believes that we shall haveto return to this problem, but in other conditions already, much morecomplicated, when the situation in the country will request urgentinterventions and the adoption of some documents will be made in ahurry, without having much time to discuss them".<\/p>\n

According to Mr. Golea, this is the reason why it would be good forthese two problems – that of the appointment of the new Government andthat of the extension of its attributes – to be considered together,without any conditions of the type "we shall support this initiative,but only in case the Government includes our people".
