Oleg Cernei, representative of the Green Alliance Ecological Party of Moldova, and independent candidate Vasile Ursu, ad-interim mayor of the Moldovan capital, submitted their documents for registration as bidders to the Chisinau mayor-general post on Wednesday, October 19. <\/p>\n

Ursu told journalists early this week that he hopes to garner more than 50 percent of the votes of electors, but many analysts doubt over this figure. Ursu estimated that he did not attend the precedent elections because "he was holding the mayoral post for a short time." "However, I have demonstrated my ability to solve the problems of the municipality." <\/p>\n

The Chisinau Constituency Election Council (CECC) has registered two electoral candidates until now – Dorin Chirtoaca, on behalf of the Liberal Party, and Valentin Krilov, representative of the electoral bloc Patria-Rodina-Ravnopravye. <\/p>\n

Also, Eduard Musuc, representative of the Social Democratic Party of Moldova, and Gheorghe Sima, on behalf of the Labour Union Patria-Rodina, have submitted their documents to CECC. <\/p>\n

October 27 is the deadline for submission of documents. Candidates are welcome to submit their documents at the Chisinau City Hall every day from 09:00 to midday, except for Saturdays, Sundays and holidays. <\/p>\n

Chisinau will hold new local elections on November 27, after the July 10 early elections and July 24 repeated scrutiny were declared as invalid because less than one third of the electorate attended them. <\/p>\n

All people with permanent or temporary registration in Chisinau will be able to cast their ballots on November 27. The "voted" stamp will be applied in annex to the identity card of the voter.
