Head of the Congress for Russian Communities in Moldavia, leader of Ravnopravie (“Equality of rights”) Valery Klimenko whose daughter was arrested on accusation of embezzlement wrote a letter to President of Russia Vladimir Putin. A copy of the letter was sent to REGNUM. <\/p>\n

According to Klimenko, his daughter Tatyana, 24, a citizen of the Russian Federation, was detained by Moldavian security officials. It was the first and the only time in Moldavian history when the head of a company arrested on suspicion of cramming during repair work. Usually, if such cramming really takes place the company accused of it pays back the excessive sum to the budget, claims Klimenko. He connected his daughter’s arrest with his own political activities, his efforts to develop Russian-Moldavian relations and harsh critics of President Voronin’s activity and his foreign policy. <\/p>\n

As Klimenko put it, Voronin had no materials that could compromise him, so the most precious he had was hurt – his daughter. <\/p>\n
