The Republic of Moldova has once again stated the need for transforming the peacekeeper forces currently present in Transnistria into an international mission of military and civilian observers with OSCE mandate. Such position of the official Chisinau’s was presented by a Moldovan delegation at the OSCE Permanent Council meeting in Vienna on Thursday, which discussed situation around the Transnistrian conflict settlement. <\/p>\n

The Council considered the results of the September 26-27 consultative meeting in Odessa, in particular the sides’ agreement to resume talks and include the European Union and the United States to this work as observers. The Moldovan delegation was insisting on resuming the re-cycling of Russian ammunition stored in Transnistria. Moldova thinks the Russian Ministry of Defense should let OSCE military experts to the military depots in Transnistria. <\/p>\n
