\"\"Throughout the new Autumn-Winter Session starting today, the Moldovan Parliament shall be persistently implementing the political reforms commenced at the previous Spring-Summer Session [i.e. following the March 2005 parliamentary elections], Speaker Marian Lupu stated in his opening speech he made at the forum’s first plenary sitting. <\/p>\n

He highlighted first and foremost a package of essential bills on television and radio broadcasting, activities of local public administrations, etc. that proceed from the program of cooperation between the Republic of Moldova and the Council of Europe. He stressed the need for working out a Calendar Plan of passing laws that will let the country to meet its commitments before the Council of Europe and the European Union. <\/p>\n

Lupu stressed the Parliament has to take into consideration the changes that are taking place lately in the Transnistrian conflict settlement sphere, primarily the inclusion of the European Union and the United States into the negotiation process. <\/p>\n

Among important-most documents to be approved soon are certainly the Law on the 2006 State Budget, Law on the 2006 State Social Insurance Budget, Law on salaries in the public sector, and other. During this Session, the deputies shall work out and pass also a Work Program for the forum’s entire term of office. <\/p>\n

Marian Lupu said a special attention will be attached to consolidation of parliamentary diplomacy. Relations will be expanded and deepened with the legislatures of foreign countries, in particular Germany, France and Great Britain.
