Moldovan President Vladimir Voronin continues his official visits to the Baltic countries. After visiting Latvia the head of state arrived in Lithuania where he met the President Valdas Adamkus. <\/p>\n

The two officials expressed interest in developing the bilateral dialogue and in intensifying cooperation within international and regional organizations. Valkas Adamkus said Lithuania is willing to support Moldova on its way to European integration and approves of US and EU presence in the negotiations on the Transdniestrian conflict. <\/p>\n

Vladimir Voronin welcomed in turn the outcome of the consultations held in Odessa. “The approval of Moldova’s proposal to include the US and the EU as observers in the negotiations process will undoubtedly result in substantial progresses as regards Moldova’s territorial integration,” Voronin told. The Moldovan head of state said he is glad that there are ten Lithuanian experts among the experts of the European Union in charge with the international control and monitoring of the Transdniestrian segment of the Moldova-Ukraine state border. <\/p>\n
