Rompres mentions analyst Petru Bogatu’s opinion on chances that the Republic of Moldavia should regain its entire body. Bogatu opines these chances are getting smaller and smaller every day and thinks "the only realistic solution to end the conflict in Transdniestria is to temporarily disconnect Transdniestria from the rest of the state so that an international organization will manage to administer it." Bogatu explains his point of view, claiming that real control on Transdniestria is possible only if Washington takes force action, which is little likely, because the West wants no open conflict with Moscow. Secondly, in Ukraine there are enough forces supporting the Tyraspol regime. For now, to give Transdniestria to Ukraine after international arbitration is impossible, because the separation of the region and Ukraine assimilating it would end with the dissolution of the Moldavian Republic and the latter’s unification with Romania. Bogatu thinks the most realistic view is the one Adrian Severin has recently expressed Transdniestria to take Kosovo as pattern.
