The Russian Federation did not unveil any document which would unfit the Ukrainian plan on settlement of the Transnistrian conflict, Alexey Babenko, spokesman for the Russian Embassy to Moldova, said on Wednesday. <\/p>\n

Contacted by BASA to comment on a document unveiled as official stance of Russia towards way of settlement of the Transnistrian conflict, Babenko said Moscow did not draft such a document. He noted that he does not know at least who is the developer of this plan, which fails to cover a right stance of Russia on the Transnistrian settlement. <\/p>\n

In turn, Moldovan Reintegration Minister Vasile Sova stated to BASA that the text is a provocation which recalls the "text written by a drunk journalist from Tiraspol." "I cannot believe that such a document was drafted by the Foreign Ministry or other structures of the Moscow government. The developers have invented a new state Moldavia, made up by Transnistria and Moldova, which is described either unitary, or common. The entire document is full of contradictions and open provocations. I think that the developer has deliberately released it to tense the relations of Moldova with Russia. The calculation is primitive enough, especially after the productive meeting between presidents of Moldova and Russia in Kazany. This document deserves to be treated the way we do with computer viruses," Minister Sova added. <\/p>\n

The plan unveiled on Wednesday calls for the complete demilitarisation of Moldova and creation of a "state union" with the Transnistrian region for a definitive settlement of the Transnistrian conflict. The project is a "document proposed by the Russian Federation to complete the Ukrainian Transnistrian settlement plan."
