Mayor of Ciadar-Lunga Mihail Formuzal announced officially that he will participate in next elections for the position of head of ATU Gagauzia. Potential opponent of the Communists asserts that the ruling party tries to eliminate him from the electoral race. <\/p>\n

Formuzal stated Wednesday at a press conference that the current head of ATU Gagauzia Gheorghe Tabunscic, exerts pressures through the agency of Prosecutor’s Office of ATU Gagauzia, instituting more fabricated criminal cases. <\/p>\n

At the same conference it was presented also a statement of the Republican People’s Party (PPR), the mayor of Ciadar-Lunga being one of its leaders. <\/p>\n

According to the statement, it is obvious that in the given case the political leadership of Gagauzia tries to settle account with one political opponent, leader of the opposition party, through the agency of force structures. <\/p>\n

“This intention is absolutely clear in the context of next election campaign, taking account of the fact that Formuzal is the only real opponent of the current Communist leader,” reads the statement. <\/p>\n

Asked by REPORTER.MD, prosecutor of Gagauzia Gheorghe Leciu stated that accusations of Ciadar-Lunga mayor Mihai Formuzal are non-sense and there cannot exist any political request to initiate criminal cases. <\/p>\n

“Formuzal was charged with abuse of power, committing some actions that exceeded his authority and that defrauded the state of 420,000 lei. The court of law is going to establish his guilt and punishment,” also said Leciu. <\/p>\n

It should be mentioned that mayor of Ciadar-Lunga, Mihai Formuzal also participated in the elections of head of ATU Gagauzia three years ago, when he lost against Gheorghe Tabunscic.\/\/REPORTER.MD<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
