Info-Prim-Neo \/\/ Chisinau reiterated the need for an international inspection at Cobasna warehouses of the Russian Federation and at the military enterprises located in the Transdniestrian region of the Republic of Moldova. This position was expressed by the Moldovan delegation at the second Biennial Reunion on the Implementation of UN Action Plan on the prevention, fighting and liquidation of illegal trade with small calibre arms, held during July 11-15 this year at the UN General Headquarters in New York, – reports Info-Prim-Neo. <\/p>\n

According to the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration, the Moldovan delegation underscored the impossibility of implementing UN Action Plan on the prevention, fighting and liquidation of illegal trade with small calibre arms on the entire territory of the country. Moldovan officials motivated this by the existence of a separatist region under the control of mafia regime, supported from outside. The participants have been informed on the proportions and the threat of the phenomenon of illegal production and sales of armament by enterprises located on the left bank of Dniestr river. <\/p>\n

Also, it should be noticed that Moldovan authorities were worried about the further presence on the country’s territory of a huge quantity of arms and ammunitions of the Russian Federation, illegally stocked in the Republic of Moldova.
