The document reads that Chisinau authorities have not presented any official explanations regarding this case despite the repeated addressing of the Russian Embassy to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration of Moldova. <\/p>\n

Moscow seeks their immediate release, or there will follow adequate retaliatory measures, underlined the commentary of the Russian Foreign Ministry. <\/p>\n

The Russian citizens were detained on Saturday night, while they were passing the fiscal checkpoints on Chisinau-Tiraspol route, on the territory controlled by the Moldovan authorities. The head of the international organization of monitoring elections in CIS countries "CIS-EMO", Alexei Kocetkov and the employee of this organization Vladimir Lebedkov were sentenced to 13 and respectively 7 days of administrative arrest. <\/p>\n

According to the Russian Embassy in Moldova, the detainees are held at the police commissariat from Anenii Noi district. <\/p>\n

The Russian Embassy in Moldova has sent also to the Moldova’s Foreign Ministry and European Integration a note of protest about other incident. <\/p>\n

According to a press release of the Russian Embassy, on July 9, four Russian citizens who where in Moldova on a working visit sent by the Foreign Ministry of Russia, were stopped in the center of Chisinau, being accused of attempt to take pictures in front of the Parliament. The law enforcement bodies argued that this thing is forbidden because of elections of general mayor of Chisinau on July 10. The Russian citizens were subjected to a search and the things that were with them were also checked. <\/p>\n

Russian Embassy considers these actions as “inadequate measures in the address of the Russian citizens, who are officially in Moldova on a working visit, and as an unfriendly challenging gesture.” <\/p>\n
