President of the Central Electoral Commission (CEC) Petru Railean mentioned on Monday at a seminar on training the personnel of all polling stations so that the voters could perform their right to vote on the basis of valid identity cards, on the basis of those expired but registered, on the basis of form nr. 9 and on the basis of soviet-type passports, the expiration date of which is July 1. Previously, CEC addressed to the Government with the request to allow the persons with old-type passports to vote on the day of the poll. Although CEC did not receive any official answer in this regard, Railean said that this thing would be favorable. <\/p>\n

Railean mentioned that at 10 July elections there would be impossible to vote on the basis of foreign passports, because the place of residence of the person is not indicated. CEC President underlined the fact that in the document presented by each voter when receiving the polling paper there will be applied the stamp “voted”, in order to avoid double participation in the vote of the citizens. <\/p>\n

In his turn, the head of Public Administration Municipal Division, Iulia Esanu said that there were found 284 polling stations, 234 of which in Chisinau municipality. <\/p>\n

According to the cited source, starting July 1 all the county head offices of the capital will sign the electoral registers for each polling station and will present them to the presidents of the Electoral Bureaus of the polling stations. Also, 10 days before the elections, all the inhabitants of the capital will receive invitations to participate in the elections. <\/p>\n
