Deputy Chairman of the Moldovan Liberal Party Mr. Dorin Chirtoaca believes he has the highest chances of all to become Chisinau Mayor at the forthcoming early July 10 elections. Today, he convened a news conference in Infotag and stated, in particular, that his advantages are his young age (27) and "absence of ties with the Soviet nomenclature". <\/p>\n

He further held, "Chisinau needs a young Mayor with European outlooks. That’s only how we will be able to bring closer Moldova’s integration into Europe. We cannot go to the European Union under the guidance of people who in previous decades used to heap praises on the Communist Party. I hope Chisinau citizens will understand they need a young mayor". <\/p>\n

The aspirant said that his motto is "A young mayor to a European capital!", and presented his electoral program envisaging profound reforms in the Chisinau Municipality [City Hall], capital city and suburbs. <\/p>\n

Chirtoaca pledged he would be regularly placing on the Municipality’s official website information about city budget implementation progress; would simplify the procedure of obtaining business licenses, permits, certificates, etc.; would be enrolling Municipality personnel through professional contests; promoting young people to leading positions; attracting foreign investment in small and medium businesses; would ensure the capital city with central hot water supply all the year round; would be building housing for socially vulnerable population groups and young families; repair roads in the city; and would build a garbage incinerator. \/\/ INFOTAG<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
