\"\"Moldovan President Vladimir Voronin, who is on a visit to Strasbourg, invited European Parliament Chairman J. Borrell Fantelles to pay a visit to Chisinau, MOLDPRES special correspondent reports. <\/p>\n

During the meeting, Vladimir Voronin briefed the high guest on the content of a joint letter, he has recently signed with the Ukrainian president, in which they called for the support of the European community to establish an international control over the Transnistrian segment of the Moldovan-Ukrainian border, which would contribute to settle the Transnistrian conflict. <\/p>\n

The head of state also referred to the implementation of the European Union (EU) Action Plan for Moldova. In the context, he called for speeding up the approval of the document by the European MPs. <\/p>\n

J. Borrell Fantelles said the initiative of the Moldovan and Ukrainian presidents to establish an international control on the Transnistrian portion of the common border will strengthen the security in the region. <\/p>\n

Touching upon the EU Action Plan for Moldova, the high European official said it demands the contribution of the whole society to successfully carry out the provisions of the document. <\/p>\n

Vladimir Voronin was invited to participate in a plenary meeting of the European Parliament following the meeting with the forum’s chairman. <\/p>\n
