\n\"\"Representatives of the Christian Democratic People’s Party (PPCD) expelled from the party at the end of last week seek from the Party’s National Council and Congress to cancel the decision through which they were expelled from the party and to examine the behavior, decisions and activity from the last period of the PPCD leader Iurie Rosca, from the point of view of their compatibility with the status of the party. <\/p>\n

Sergiu Burca, Mihai Roscovan, Ion Mamaliga, Mihai Grecu and Constantin Lazar, expelled from PPCD through Sunday’s decision of the Permanent Bureau of the party, question its validity and request of the Christian Democratic International and European People’s Party that they send a mission to investigate the situation within the PPCD. <\/p>\n

According to president of Euro-Atlantic Association, Sergiu Burca the initiative of expelling some important members from the party belongs to Iurie Rosca, who leads PPCD in a totalitarian and dictatorial way and who chose to prove in such a way that he would not tolerate persons who have their own opinions in the decision making structures of the party. He added that the low rating of PPCD, which is maintaining at the same level of 9%, is also determined by the unwise actions contradicting party’s statutory principles undertaken by the Christian-democratic leader, while this party could obtain easily the support of 30% of the electorate. According to Burca, after the expelling of those five, the rating of PPCD is expected to decrease. The resignations in the party started after the vote cast by the Christian-democrats on April 4, when the President was elected. <\/p>\n

Municipal counselors, Ion Mamaliga and Mihai Roscovan have also said that they will unfold further their activity in the Municipal Council and if PPCD faction is going to dissociate themselves from them, they will renounce their mandates. <\/p>\n

As concerns the future political activity, those five have stated that they do not exclude the possibility of going into policy again, probably through the agency of non-governmental organizations they run and together with other former and current PPCD members who share their opinion that this party must be reformed. <\/p>\n

PPCD leader, Iurie Rosca asserted in reply that the arguments presented in the decision to expel those five from the party were perfectly justified, and the criticism to be leveled by the party’s leadership at these persons is much wider.
