Christian-democratic counselors of the Chisinau Municipal Council (CMC), Ion Mamaliga and Mihail Roscovan, together with other three members of the Christian Democratic People’s Party (PPCD): Mihail Grecu, Constantin Lazar and Sergiu Burca, were expelled from the party.<\/p>\n

The decision was taken on Monday, May 30, at the meeting of the PPCD Permanent Bureau.<\/p>\n

According to a press release issued by the PPCD press bureau, cited by Flux newspaper, those five members were expelled because their actions "damaged the activity of PPCD" and their behavior was incompatible with the quality of fair and honest politicians.<\/p>\n

"They want to profit personally from the PPCD membership, to the detriment of the rest of the colleagues and party in general, they manifest self-seeking and thirst for money, they systematically shirk from the activities of the party, ignore the obligations of party member, obstruct the decisions of the leadership and just want to promote each other on the electoral rolls or to leading positions within state administration and in the party," reads the cited communique. <\/p>\n

At the same time, the PPCD Permanent Bureau has sought from Ion Mamaliga and Mihai Roscovan to give in their mandates of Chisinau municipal counselors.<\/p>\n

Asked by REPORTER.MD Sergiu Burca qualified the decision of PPCD as "thoughtless gesture," underlying that he found out about his expelling from mass media. <\/p>\n

According to Burca, the invoked reasons are groundless, and the taken decision represents "a desperate sanction generated by the excessive fear of the PPCD leader, Iurie Rosca to be surrounded by enemies, which already has transformed into paranoia." <\/p>\n

The real reasons are related to the difference in opinions when fielding candidates for the position of president of Chisinau branch of PPCD, "Rosca qualifying these proposals as a complot. Divergences appeared also when we sought explanations regarding the method of voting in concert with the Communist Party of the Republic of Moldova and of taking certain arbitrary decisions on excluding some PPCD members from the party in the last years,” added Burca. <\/p>\n

In his turn, Mihai Roscovan told REPORTER.MD that he doesn’t know the reasons for which he was expelled from PPCD, he finding out about the given decision from press. As for Bureau’s request to resign from position of municipal counselor, Roscovan said that for the time being he didn’t decide how to act. At the same time, Roscovan showed his bewilderment at the fact that he is asked to observe PPCD’s Status and give in the mandate, but he was already expelled from the party. <\/p>\n
