President Vladimir Voronin considers that regardless of the status of Teleradio-Moldova Company, this institution must be supported by the state, so as it could modernize its technical infrastructure. At the same time, head of the European Parliament delegation to Moldova, Marianne Mikko considers that Teleradio-Moldova’s dependence on state determines its loyalty towards the power. <\/p>\n

President Vladimir Voronin visited on Thursday the national public broadcaster Teleradio-Moldova Company, familiarizing himself on the spot with the conditions of activity of the public radio and television and encouraging the employees of the institution “to contribute to the consolidation of civic peace and stability “ in our country. <\/p>\n

According to the presidential press service, Vladimir Voronin has referred to the opportunity of elaborating urgently a project of re-endowment and re-technologization of the public broadcaster, oriented towards the gradual settlement of the problems related to the reparation of headquarters and technical re-equipment of the company. <\/p>\n

On the other hand, head of the European Parliament delegation to Moldova Marianne Mikko stated recently in Chisinau that she doubted the pro-western structure of the decision-makers from Teleradio-Moldova Company. "Sometimes, the press is not the fourth but the first power in the state. Written press in Moldova doesn’t have the same influence on the society as Teleradio and I would like to see rapid and dramatic changes at the level of company’s leadership. I would like to see a leadership with a modern thinking," stated Marianne Mikko, considering that institutions’ dependence on state bodies determines its loyalty towards the power. Mikko stated that Brussels is not content with the current situation at the Company. <\/p>\n
