\"\"Parliament adopted modifications to the Law on refugee status, establishing conditions in which there will be offered humanitarian protection and ensured access to justice. <\/p>\n

Law on refugee status, which is applied from 1 January 2003 was amended on the initiative of Migration Department, United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) and several MPs. The modifications and completions adopted on Thursday by Parliament in first reading, establish conditions of offering by Moldova humanitarian protection to refugees and ensurance of their access to all the stages of justice. <\/p>\n

According to bill’s authors, the aim of elaborating amendments is to comply our autochthonous legislation with European Convention on Human Rights and Fundamental Freedoms and with the international legislation in the field, as well as to respect the decision through which the Constitutional Court (CC) invalidated the Law on refugee status. <\/p>\n

It should be mentioned that on March 29, CC recognized that the legislation does not allow the asylum seekers to participate in all the stages of an equitable judicial process and limits them the right to defense, establishing that appeals against the refusal to offer the statue of refugee can be examined by the Council for Refugees.\/\/REPORTER.MD<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
