"All available resources, the entire potential of the civic society’s and state structures’ shall be mobilized to realization of the EU-Moldova Action Plan put into force last February 22", Moldovan President Vladimir Voronin stated at an international conference entitled "Moldova and Europe: Consolidation of Relations" held in Chisinau.<\/p>\n

The head of state stressed the Action Plan is a catalyst of domestic reforms aimed at building an up-to-date European state – the Republic of Moldova.<\/p>\n

In his belief, the holding of such conference only several days after the formation of a new Government is "the international community’s undisputable recognition and, therefore, support of the objectives Moldova has set itself to achieve a strategic objective – integration into the European Union".<\/p>\n

The President further held, "The European vector is the entire Moldovan nation’s objective that has been confirmed by the people’s choice in favor of democracy and prosperity made at the March 6 parliamentary elections. We realize the great responsibility on us to make a qualitative breakthrough to the European Union. The Action Plan tasks and objectives determine the Republic of Moldova’s policy for near years".<\/p>\n

Voronin highlighted that consolidation of democracy and law-governed state, harmonization of the national legislation, ensuring of border security and defense, joining the European infrastructure, proceeding with profound structural reforms are the priorities of the Republic of Moldova’s domestic and external policies, "whose implementation will consolidate the country’s positions in the big family of European nations".<\/p>\n

"Moldova has always based its home and foreign policies on the universally recognized principles within the United Nations, the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe, the Council of Europe, and uses these principles for building the relations of collaboration with foreign partners", said President Vladimir Voronin.<\/p>\n

The Chisinau conference has gathered over 70 experts – representatives of international organizations from Germany, Ukraine, Romania. The forum has been designed to attract the international public’s attention to the economic, political and social problems which Moldova comes across in its transition to European standards.<\/p>\n

The Transnistria problem solution is a matter of priority for Chisinau, Moldovan President Vladimir Voronin stated at the international conference entitled "Moldova and Europe: Consolidation of Relations".<\/p>\n

"Country reintegration is one of our priorities formulated in response to threats to regional and European security, to the continuing strain constantly fed by the Transnistrian separatist leaders and their provocations in the Transnistria Security Zone, and by the lack of whatever control over the Transnistrian portion of the Moldova-Ukraine state border", said the Moldovan President.<\/p>\n

He voted for changing the current 5-sided format of the Transnistrian negotiations, and for inviting new players to the conflict settlement work.<\/p>\n

"The experience of the 12-year-long useless talks on Transnistrian conflict settlement has demonstrated the inefficiency of the current negotiations format, and the need for attracting the European Union, the United States and Romania, as our neighbor, to the negotiation process. We highly appreciate the appointment of a European Union Special Representative for the Republic of Moldova, and Europe’s resolute stance with respect to the Transnistrian separatist regime’s illicit, aggressive, criminal actions", said President Vladimir Voronin.<\/p>\n

He emphasized that ensuring of domestic security through strengthening a law-governed state, through establishing public order and security in the entire country, its international security that guarantees in inviolability of its internationally recognized borders "is a must of time".<\/p>\n
