RBC, 19.04.2005, Chisinau 09:24:34.The GUUAM member-countries (Georgia, Ukraine, Uzbekistan, Azerbaijan and Moldova) should join their efforts to fight separatism and terrorism and to enhance their territorial integrity, Moldovan President Vladimir Voronin and Ukrainian national security and defense council’s secretary Pyotr Poroshenko have declared at a meeting in Chisinau (Moldova). Poroshenko is the head of the task group for the preparation of GUUAM summit talks, which will open in Chisinau on April 22.<\/p>\n

Voronin and Poroshenko expressed hope that the forthcoming GUUAM summit talks would seriously increase the organization’s efficiency, so as to use the huge potential for cooperation between its member-countries. Voronin noted that GUUAM should be used not only for economic integration of its members, but also for supporting their interests at the international level. Poroshenko remarked in connection with this that the atmosphere of stability and predictability, which had emerged in Moldova and Ukraine as a result of the latest parliamentary and presidential elections, had enabled the two countries to adopt a principally new approach to their bilateral relations. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
