\"\"Chisinau. The Republic of Moldova and NATO will be cooperating more actively within the NATO Partnership for Peace Program, Moldovan Minister of Defense Valeriu Plesca and the Organization’s Coordination Unit Director Maj. Gen. Rifki Durusoy agreed in Chisinau on Wednesday. <\/p>\n

The Minister stressed participation in the NATO Program is very important for Moldova as it permits to not only train the local military in accordance with European standards and establish mutually beneficial relations with partner armies, but also use international experience for army reform. <\/p>\n

The sides pointed out that after admission of new members to the NATO, the Program should become more flexible and better adapted to partners’ requirements. <\/p>\n

Rifki Durusoy underscored the importance of cooperation between Moldovan Ministry of Defense specialists and NATO experts in order to work out an efficient document on cooperation between Moldova and the NATO Partnership for Peace Program. <\/p>\n

The NATO General is scheduled to visit the Moldovan Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Stefan cel Mare Division. <\/p>\n

Moldova acceded to the NATO Partnership for Peace Program in 1994. To date, over 1.3 thousand Moldovan limitary have participated in nearly 70 international military exercises and in over 600 other joint actions. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
