“I have voted for a real change, for democracy, for reform, for country’s economic recovery, for its reorientation to the European Union and North Atlantic Alliance, for the actual independence of the Republic of Moldova, for its territorial unity and for a better future for our children,” told the press the leader of the Christian Democratic People’s Party of Moldova (PPCD), Iurie Rosca after he had cast his vote at the polling station 1\/127, located inside school nr.41 from Centru sector of the capital. <\/p>\n

Asked to predict elections’ results, Rosca said that he hoped they would be high above their friends’ expectations and not much under their own expectations. <\/p>\n

As regards the rumors about the possibility of protests in case the polls’ results are not the expected ones, Iurie Rosca specified: “We intend to organize protest actions if we don’t agree with the electoral processes on the last day and if we don’t agree with the results. We will not protest if we register a modest result in consequence of a fair competition. We will protest if the legislation is violated and if the elections are rigged. Wait for our signal. For the time being we are considering, examining, analyzing the way in which the elections unfold,” asserted PPCD leader. <\/p>\n

In another connection, at the request of mass media representatives, Rosca added: “I think the current government of the Russian Federation hasn’t understood yet that it lost the influence on Moldova, like on Georgia and Ukraine. Russia must acknowledge that the Republic of Moldova is an independent state, less from territorial viewpoint, and in terms of economic potential – it is another country. So, Moldova must be respected and we, in our turn, will respect the Russian Federation,” stated Rosca. <\/p>\n

104 people, of who 97 included in the basic lists and 7 – in the supplementary lists, made their choice at the mentioned polling station by 10.00am. According to the secretary of the respective polling station Olga Pena, more than half of those that voted until the mentioned hour were elderly people.
