INTERLIC. The Russian citizens were deported from Moldova because they violated the rules of the internal Law on the order of the sojourn of the foreigners in the RM and the absence of a labor permission. As INTERLIC News agency reports, it is said in the official note by the RM MFA of February 21 in response of the note by the RF MFA of February 14, which contained a request to explain the reasons of the detention and the deportation of the RF citizens from the RM. <\/p>\n

Five Russians, who had stayed illegally on the RM territory and were engaged in the monitoring of the electoral campaign, were deported from Moldova on February 11. As the statement by the RM Ministry of Foreign Affairs noted, the Russians rented a room for their office in the “Atlantic” Trade Center in the center of Chisinau. This center was equipped with 24 computers and other electronic devices, designed for listening simultaneously during day and night all the TV and radio stations of Moldova. <\/p>\n

Besides, a lot of compact disks, containing materials for the electoral campaign to promote one of the electoral competitors were discovered there. All these products were confiscated. <\/p>\n

According to the data by one of the candidates, one of the detained Russians was dealing with public polls among the RM citizens. The sanctions were applied against the detained Russians in accordance with the two articles of the Administrative Code – “A Violation of the Rules of the Stay of Foreign Citizens on the RM territory”, “”Working Activities of Foreign Citizens in the Absence of a Job Permission”. <\/p>\n

“No one from the above citizens had an Observer’s status and was registered with the Central Electoral Commission”- the statement by the RM MFA concludes. <\/p>\n

At the same time, the representatives of the Russian Embassy have declared that they have no additional data on this incident and are not ready to comment on it due to the fact that the RF citizens stayed in Moldova on their own initiative. <\/p>\n

Reportedly a suit on the basis of Article “Contraband” was instituted against two Russian citizens. $373 thousand and 77.5 thousand euro were discovered in the apartment, rented by the Russians. This amount considerably exceeds all the limits. <\/p>\n

16 Russians were arrested last week on charges of interfering in the nation’s parliamentary elections scheduled for March 6. No one of them was registered with the Central Electoral Commission and no one had an observer’s status. <\/p>\n

According to Security and Information Service Director Ion Ursu, two groups of citizens, the majority of them of the Russian Federation, who actively participated in the Moldovan election campaign were expelled from Moldova, such tough measures are used only in emergencies, when there is no talking about formally breaking the staying regime or political consultations of some or another political formations. The competent estimation shows that these RF citizens forged pseudo-documents and resolutions by allegedly RM law enforcement authorities, they spied over the Communist candidates. <\/p>\n

According to Ion Ursu, the Information and Security Service continues to investigate this case and has requested the RF Federal Security Service and the Ukrainian Security Service to render assistance in this matter.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
