Tiraspol administration did not give an answer to the Central Electoral Commission in Chisinau regarding the opening of polling stations for the parliamentary elections from 6 March \"\"in the districts from the left bank of the Dniester, but Transdniestrian officials pronounced themselves against this idea. Head of Tiraspol diplomacy Valery Litkay states that the attempt of Chisinau authorities to open polling stations on the left bank of the Dniester is “a badly organized provocation.” <\/p>\n

According to Tiraspol official news agency “Olvia-press”, Valery Litkay considered the opening of polling stations for the parliamentary elections from 6 March in the Transdniestrian region as an impossible thing. He said that Moldovan officials made this gesture in order to justify themselves in front of the international community, after PACE rapporteurs had discussed this issue with Tiraspol authorities. Litkay has also underlined that no matter how many approaches Chisinau will make, the legislation of the Republic of Moldova does not allow the founding of polling stations in the Transdniestrian region. <\/p>\n

It should be mentioned that Chisinau authorities have made an approach to the Tiraspol administration with a view to opening polling stations for the parliamentary elections from 6 March on the left bank of the Dniester. CEC President, Petru Railean has mentioned that Chisinau will open polling stations in the Eastern districts of the country only in case they get a positive answer to all the advanced requests.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
