Andrei Stratan is discussing the political aspects of the RM-EU Individual Plan of Actions. As INTERLIC News agency reports, the RM and the EU has already had three rounds of consultations on this plan, which establishes priorities for cooperation between the RM and the EU for the successive 3 years. <\/p>\n

The last round of the consultations took place in Chisinau on June 4. The RM delegation was led by RM Foreign Minister Andrei Stratan, the EU delegation was led by Deputy Director for Foreign Relations Hilde Hardeman. Several Dutch representatives of the EU and Representative of EU General Secretary Javier Solana participated in the talks on behalf of the European Union. <\/p>\n

The consultations were carried in four working groups “Political Dialogue and Regional Cooperation”, “Economic Development”, “The Infrastructure, Education and Environment”, “Justice and Internal Affairs”. The meeting has been very constructive. The sides agreed to continue considering the political aspects of the EM-EU Plan of Actions before June 15, 2004. By this time the European experts will send the written version of the reached agreements to Chisinau. Then the document will come in force after the completion of the EU internal procedures. <\/p>\n

Reportedly, the RM-EU Individual Plan of Actions is divided into several blocks. Social-economic and trade issues takes about two thirds of the document. They are followed by such sections as transport, communications, infrastructure, power engineering, information technologies. Another block of issues is a scientific-cultural sphere and education. The political block, which is the responsibility of the RM MFA, includes the Transdniestrian problem. The economic part of the plan consists of two chapters: it is a social economic reform and the market development. Since the objective of the RM-EU Individual Plan of Actions coincides with the Growth and Poverty Reduction Strategy, Chisinau and Brussels decided that the social-economic part of the RM-EU Individual Plan of Actions is to agree with the provisions of the Growth and Poverty Reduction Strategy.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
