Christian-democratic leader Iurie Rosca was elected as vice speaker at Parliament’s meeting on Friday. <\/p>\n

Rosca was voted by 77 MPs, representatives of the Communist Party, Christian Democratic People’s Party, Democratic Party and parliamentary group Social Liberal Party. 6 MPs of Our Moldova Alliance voted against, and the rest did not vote. <\/p>\n

Rosca stated during his speech in front of the MPs that his election for the position of vice speaker offers him the chance to dedicate himself fully to promoting and achieving the main tasks that are included in those ten proposals forwarded by the Christian-democrats to the head of state. <\/p>\n

Also today, President of the Republic of Moldova Vladimir Voronin recommended Vasile Tarlev for the post of prime minister. Leader of the Christian Democratic People’s Party (PPCD) Iurie Rosca was elected as vice speaker, garnering 77 votes. <\/p>\n

Speaker Marian Lupu recommended Iurie Rosca for the second position of vice speaker that according to the Parliament’s regulation is assigned to the parliamentary opposition. MPs did not object and according to the results the candidacy of Rosca was backed by 77 MPs – of the Communist Party, inclusively President Vladimir Voronin, present at the meeting, PPCD, and of the Social-Liberal Party. Six MPs from Our Moldova Alliance voted against while the rest of MPs did not vote. <\/p>\n

Rosca thanked his colleagues for the trust they put in him and said he would promote those laws that would allow achieving those ten suggestions forwarded earlier to the head of state. <\/p>\n
