People are called to get vaccinated every day.<\/p>\n<p>To date, the Republic of Moldova has received <strong>1 567 350 doses of vaccine<\/strong>, Moldovans being able to choose from Pfizer-BioNTech, AstraZeneca, Johnson &amp; Johnson, Sinovac, Sinopharm and Sputnik-V &#8211; almost all major manufacturers on the global market.<\/p>\n<p>A total of <strong>1 111 680 jabs<\/strong> have already been administered in Moldova and 545 219 people have been immunized with both doses of a COVID-19 vaccine, as the national <a href=\"https:\/\/vaccinare.gov.md\/\">vaccination platform<\/a> displayed. COVID-19 immunization coverage reached<strong> 18.8%<\/strong> this week. 87.5% of medical workers have been immunized against the virus. Moldova averaged about <strong>8 999 doses <\/strong>administered\u00a0each day. Moreover, some of them don&#8217;t intend to get vaccinated. Why?<\/p>\n<p>The majority of Moldova&#8217;s population resides in the <strong>rural areas<\/strong> (61.8% according to the data of the last <a href=\"https:\/\/statistica.gov.md\/pageview.php?l=ro&amp;idc=479&amp;\">census<\/a>). Some of them live in remote localities, without a pharmacy or a medical institution. That forces people to commute to the neighbouring villages or cities for accessing medical services, including administration of vaccines. Moreover, limited access to vaccines centres due to their concentration in larger cities makes the vaccination process much slower.<\/p>\n<p>A recent <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ipn.md\/storage\/ckfinder\/files\/PP_AfterPoll_2021%2001%2007.pdf\">poll<\/a> concluded that Moldovans have their most confidence in the <strong>church<\/strong> (almost<span style=\"color: #993300;\"> 71%<\/span> of respondents).
