The German media outlet Bild<\/strong> published recently an article<\/a>, stating that the future federal elections, held on September 26, 2021, would “move into a centre of espionage and influence by Russia,”<\/em> as being warned by the German Federal Office for the Protection of the Constitution.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The article also mentions the warnings of the German Ministry of Internal Affairs<\/strong> that “Russia is currently stealing sensitive data in order to carry out influence operations and disinformation campaigns before the election on September 26th.”<\/em><\/p>\n

The campaign for federal elections would use the Moldovan example, journalists say. “BILD has a paper received from the Moldovan secret service that analyses the planned Russian campaign to influence the presidential election in November 2020. […] The Kremlin has invested a total of 11.453 million euros to make Igor Dodon the new President of Moldova<\/span> and to further consolidate its influence in Central Europe.”<\/em><\/p>\n

The article author believes that one of the reasons why the Pro-Russian socialist Igor Dodon lost the presidential election against the pro-European candidate Maia Sandu is “that the Russians were signalled that someone learned about their plans in detail, which led to the cancellation of many planned actions and already started Kremlin operations.”<\/em><\/p>\n

According to Bild, 4 million of the total amount were intended as bribes for “friendly candidates”<\/em> supposed to implement the Kremlin’s policy in Moldova after the election, more than half a million euros were to pay the propaganda media, 393 000 euros were supposed to be directed to foreign election observers, and another half a million euros were earmarked for “the correction of the election results”<\/em>, just in case the socialist candidate lost.<\/p>\n
