The decision was taken by authorities after the arrival of the Russian vaccine second component on April 30. The batch arrived to the National Agency of Public Health (NAPH) on April 27, along with <strong>100 thousand<\/strong> doses of CoronaVac vaccine, produced by Sinovac (also Chinese), which were purchased by contracting the manufacturer.<\/p>\n<p>At the same time, the immunization with AstraZeneca (Vaxzevria) booster doses began, as more than <strong>83 thousand<\/strong> jabs were distributed throughout the country last week.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Overall, more than <strong>150 thousand<\/strong> doses have been administered and more than<strong> 18 thousand<\/strong> people have been fully vaccinated since the beginning of the vaccination campaign against COVID-19 in the Republic of Moldova, as MHLSP <a href=\"https:\/\/vaccinare.gov.md\/\">informed<\/a>.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>One could say that Moldovan citizens have bigger choice now when selecting the vaccine they want to get. In reality though, some people who are supposed to be vaccinated in stage two give up the jab distributed to them in favour of another vaccine that would come soon. For example, doctors from the Autonomous Territorial Unit of\u00a0Gagauzia <a href=\"https:\/\/gagauzinfo.md\/top1\/59470-gagauziya-vernula-minzdravu-vsyu-partiyu-vakciny-astrazeneca.html\">returned<\/a> the AstraZeneca vaccine to the authorities, saying that they would be rather vaccinated with Sputnik V. The share of people who said they surely would not be vaccinated has decreased by 9% (from 46% to 37%). Of the respondents who agreed to be vaccinated, <span style=\"color: #993300;\">41% would accept any vaccine<\/span> offered by NAPH.
