One could say they are not making laws or supervising the Government, they are not doing their job honestly and responsibly, they rather act like playing chess or bowling, or even some card game that involves cheating.<\/p>\n<p>After being appointed as the candidate for the position of Prime Minister, Natalia Gavrilita presented her team and a Government program at Parliament&#8217;s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.privesc.eu\/arhiva\/93718\/Sedinta-Parlamentului-Republicii-Moldova-din-11-februarie-2021\">plenary session<\/a>. <em>&#8220;No hands raised, zero votes. Congratulations Mrs Candidate. All parliamentary parties declared that any cabinet of ministers submitted to the current Parliament wouldn&#8217;t be voted, as this is the shortest way to trigger snap parliamentary elections<em>. <\/em><strong>MPs not voting 2 candidates as Prime Ministers within 45 days was declared as being the fastest and most reasonable solution leading to a new Parliament.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>That is what politicians claimed. Still, some of them wouldn&#8217;t really like to give up their seats in Parliament and lose the influence of their party in the legislature. Parliament has to make the next move<\/a><\/span><\/p>\n<p>The Constitution says that the president of the Republic of Moldova has to appoint, for the second time, a candidate for the position of Prime Minister. However, the things are not that simple as they seemed (maybe) 2 weeks ago.<\/p>\n<p>There is a decision of the Constitutional Court (CC) of August 2020 stating that, <strong><span style=\"color: #993300;\">if an official majority government is formed, the president is obliged to appoint the candidate submitted by this majority for the position of Prime Minister.<\/span><\/strong> In case the president refuses to appoint that candidate, the Constitution provides for her dismissal.<\/p>\n<p>Right after giving the no confidence vote for Gavrilita&#8217;s appointed Government, the socialists submitted their own candidate &#8211; <strong>Mariana Durlesteanu<\/strong> who was Minister of Finance in the new Government led by Zinaida Greceanii (2008-2009). <em>&#8220;She is a person capable of running a transitional Government until the snap parliamentary elections,&#8221;<\/em> <strong>Igor Dodon<\/strong> <a href=\"https:\/\/fb.watch\/3BaptarJOx\/\">said<\/a>. That is while an acting prime minister and an acting Government already exist.<\/p>\n<p>Only a week ago, the socialist leader Igor Dodon firmly declared that no Government would be voted and that snap parliamentary elections would take place in June 2021. Lying and manipulating in front of citizens, while implementing own petty plans, that seems a very well-known practice of the former president.<\/p>\n<p>54 MPs signed for a majority government, so that the socialist candidacy could be submitted to President Maia Sandu. The structure of the majority government is not new at all &#8211; socialists, the Sor Political Party members and ex-democratic turncoats, called the Platform &#8220;For Moldova&#8221;, who also voted a series of dubious bills, contrary to Parliament\u2019s procedure, in December 2020. &#8220;For Moldova&#8221; and the Sor Political Party already <a href=\"https:\/\/www.privesc.eu\/arhiva\/93726\/Declaratiile-lui-Pavel-Filip-in-timpul-sedintei-Parlamentului-Republicii-Moldova-din-11-februarie-2021\">announced<\/a> their support for the candidate nominated by socialists.<\/p>\n<p>Is it checkmate? Pretending that there was no majority government in Parliament, declaring as being in favour of snap elections, not voting the first appointed candidate for the position of Prime Minister, forming a last minute majority government in order to name own candidate and vote for him in Parliament (after forcing the head of state to appoint it)? The political party announced its readiness <strong>to create and assume an anti-crisis minority government until the snap parliamentary elections would be held<\/strong>, as well as nominated Andrei Nastase, the party leader, for the position of Prime Minister.<\/p>\n<p>The President of the Republic of Moldova, <strong>Maia Sandu<\/strong>, called the parliamentary groups to a new round of consultations. No consensus was reached though. Moreover, a third candidate who could lead a future &#8220;transitional&#8221; Government (re)appeared. President Maia Sandu <a href=\"https:\/\/www.presedinte.md\/rom\/presa\/presedintele-maia-sandu-o-inainteaza-repetat-pe-natalia-gavrilita-la-functia-de-prim-ministru-al-republicii-moldova\">announced<\/a> that she has submitted the candidacy of Natalia Gavrilita for the second time. The president informed that the letter proposing Mariana Durlesteanu, which was signed by 54 MPs, was received.
