A common meeting of the Minister of Health, Labour and Social Protection (MHLSP), the National Agency for Public Health (NAPH), the European Commission, the EU Delegation to the Republic of Moldova, the WHO Country Office in the Republic of Moldova, the representatives of UNICEF, the Ministry of External Affairs and European Integration and the Presidency of the Republic of Moldova took place today via a video conference.<\/p>\n

Among the topics discussed in the forum were the access of the country to COVID-19 vaccines, the implementation of the National Anti-COVID-19 Immunization Plan<\/strong>, along with some logistical aspects regarding the vaccine acquisition and authorization procedure, as the MHLSP informed<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The MHLSP Secretary of State, Tatiana Zatic<\/strong>, presented the measures taken by the ministry to provide the country with COVID-19 vaccines and mentioned that the Republic of Moldova is ready to receive vaccine doses<\/span><\/strong>.<\/p>\n

She also mentioned that the National Anti-COVID-19 Immunization Plan was approved, the logistics distribution process at national and regional level was set up, the vaccination centres, as well as the categories of people who will be vaccinated as a priority were established. According to the official, there are adequate storage conditions for COVID-19 vaccines at temperatures of – 70 \u00b0 C and – 20 \u00b0 C and all authorization and import procedures are regulated.<\/p>\n

The representatives of the European Commission expressed their openness to a further collaboration and gave assurances that they would support Moldova when it comes to the process of providing enough COVID-19 vaccine doses<\/span>.<\/p>\n

The MHLSP representatives claim that the Republic of Moldova will receive COVID-19 vaccine for 20%<\/strong> of population, which will be provided free of charge through the COVAX platform. Additionally, another 50%<\/strong> of population will be immunised with vaccine doses obtained through procurements and donations. Romania announced its intention to grant the Republic of Moldova 200 000 doses of vaccine free of charge.<\/p>\n
