According to the <a href=\"https:\/\/msmps.gov.md\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/11\/hotarirea_cnesp_nr.35_27.11.2020.pdf\">decision<\/a> no. 35 of November 27, new preventive measures were approved for the period November 30, 2020 &#8211; January 15, 2021.<\/p>\n<p>The number of COVID-19 confirmed cases reached <span style=\"color: #993300;\"><strong>104 140<\/strong><\/span>, out of which 12 343 are active cases, 3 650 people are hospitalised, 271 persons &#8211; in intensive care units, while 2 250 people died, as the <strong>Minister of Health, Labour and Social Protection (MHLSP)<\/strong> <a href=\"https:\/\/msmps.gov.md\/comunicare\/comunicate\/1246-cazuri-de-covid-19-inregistrate-in-ultimele-24-ore\/\">informed<\/a>. The average bed occupancy rate in the capital city hospitals is 90%, while in the country&#8217;s districts the rate is 85%.<\/p>\n<p>With the number of cases continuously growing, authorities decided to close down night clubs, activities that imply the presence of spectators in theatres, cinemas, concert halls, etc. Also, it is prohibited to serve customers in public catering units (restaurants, bars, canteens, cafes) between 10 p.m. and 7 a.m. starting November 30.<\/p>\n<p>Groups of maximum 3 people are allowed in open public places like forests, parks, alleys, beaches, etc. Elderly persons over 63 years can&#8217;t go in public spaces without strict necessity.<\/p>\n<p>Still, the organisation of single mass meetings, group meetings with the participation of less than 50 people is allowed. But these meetings may not be held next to public institutions, schools, hospitals or other places at high risk of infection. Festive events are still allowed to be held in public catering units, with the participation of less than 50 people, in compliance with public health measures.<\/p>\n<p>The Ministry of Health, Labour and Social Protection is about to establish a new list of countries with increased or low epidemiological risk of COVID-19 transmission (red and green areas). The last updated list of such countries can be found <a href=\"https:\/\/msmps.gov.md\/comunicare\/noutati\/lista-statelor-pentru-care-se-impune-regimul-de-autoizolare-la-intrarea-pe-teritoriul-republicii-moldova-incepand-cu-23-noiembrie-2020\/\">here<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The entrance of foreign citizens and stateless persons coming from countries classified as red areas is forbidden, as it indicated in the same NEPHC decision, with the following <strong><span style=\"color: #993300;\">exceptions<\/span><\/strong>:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>family members of the citizens of the Republic of Moldova;<\/li>\n<li>persons holding a long &#8211; stay visa, a residence permit or a document equivalent to the residence permit issued by Moldovan authorities;<\/li>\n<li>persons being on business trips, proved by a visa, residence permit or other equivalent document;<\/li>\n<li>pupils \/ students, who are to take exams, who are going to study in educational units \/ institutions on the territory of the Republic of Moldova or abroad, or who are travelling for activities related to their studies, with presentation of confirmatory documents.<\/li>\n<li>family members of foreign citizens who have a residence permit in the Republic of Moldova;<\/li>\n<li>foreign nationals working as teachers in the Republic of Moldova;<\/li>\n<li>members of diplomatic missions and consular posts accredited in Republic of Moldova, of international organisations\/missions, as well as members of their families or personnel who provide humanitarian aid;<\/li>\n<li>passengers in transit, including those who are repatriated;<\/li>\n<li>people travelling for health and humanitarian reasons (with the presentation of confirmatory documents);<\/li>\n<li>cross-border workers;<\/li>\n<li>drivers and service personnel, performing\u00a0transportation of goods, crews and service personnel of aircraft, ships and trains.<\/li>\n<li>foreign journalists, accredited as permanent correspondents in Republic of Moldova by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Persons who enter the Republic of Moldova, coming from red areas, have to fill in an epidemiological form, as well as a declaration on their own responsibility to comply with the self-isolation regime of 14 days in determined places<strong>.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>World Health Organization <\/strong>representative to the Republic of Moldova, <strong>Igor Pokanevych<\/strong>, <a href=\"https:\/\/gov.md\/ro\/content\/prim-ministrul-ion-chicu-onu-si-oms-vor-continua-sa-sprijine-r-moldova-combaterea-covid-19\">informed<\/a> during a common meeting with Prime Minister Ion Chicu\u00a0 that he will provide exact information regarding COVID-19 vaccine supplies in a few weeks. A list of vaccine manufacturers is currently being examined.
