It omitted the message of the\u00a0European Commission President <strong>Ursula von der Leyen<\/strong> who <a href=\"https:\/\/www.euneighbours.eu\/en\/east\/stay-informed\/news\/eu-condemns-violence-against-peaceful-protesters-following-presidential\">urged<\/a> Minsk <em>&#8220;to ensure that the votes in yesterday&#8217;s election are counted and published accurately&#8221; <\/em>or the statement of\u00a0<strong>Steffen Seibert<\/strong>, the German government&#8217;s spokesperson, who <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dw.com\/en\/belarus-election-germany-threatens-sanctions-over-lukashenkos-controversial-win\/a-54509688\">claimed<\/a> that<em>\u00a0&#8220;minimum standards for democratic elections were not met&#8221;<\/em> and that this was <em>&#8220;not acceptable.&#8221;<\/em><\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Harassment &amp; violent repression of peaceful protesters has no place in Europe. <\/p>\n<p>Fundamental rights in <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/hashtag\/Belarus?src=hash&amp;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">#Belarus<\/a> must be respected.<\/p>\n<p>I call on the Belarusian authorities to ensure that the votes in yesterday\u2019s election are counted &amp; published accurately.<\/p>\n<p>&mdash; Ursula von der Leyen (@vonderleyen) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/vonderleyen\/status\/1292762483485179904?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">August 10, 2020<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p>Along with the <strong>EU and German officials, Polish, Latvian, Lithuanian, Czech, Swedish, Ukrainian and the US officials<\/strong> expressed their concern regarding the way the election was held and the results of the election were counted and published,\u00a0 as well as they condemned violence against peaceful protesters.<\/p>\n<p>A message full of concern was sent by\u00a0Ministers of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania, Poland and Ukraine \u2013 Lublin Triangle: <span style=\"color: #000080\"><em>&#8220;As Foreign Ministers of Lublin Triangle States, we are deeply concerned with escalation of the situation in Belarus after the presidential elections and call upon the authorities to refrain from the use of force and to release all those detained last night. <\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000080\"><em>Respect for fundamental freedoms and human rights, including democracy and rule of law, is essential for further development of independent and sovereign Belarus, which we fully support. <\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000080\"><em>We are confident that only by means of dialogue the current situation can be resolved for the benefit of the people and the state of Belarus. In case of the need, we are open for any assistance or good offices in facilitating this dialogue. <\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000080\"><em>The well-being and prosperity of Belarus and its people are important for the entire Europe and specifically our region.
