Taking into consideration that one of the biggest Moldovan diasporas is in Italy and there are hundreds people who enter the country from all over the world every day, let&#8217;s have a look at the measures the Moldovan authorities took and the pandemic plan they prepared.<\/p>\n<h3>Yellow alert for coronavirus outbreak<\/h3>\n<p>The authorities have issued a <span style=\"color: #000000\"><strong>yellow alert<\/strong><\/span> of the\u00a0coronavirus\u00a0outbreak in Moldova, there being a possible risk of triggering the public health emergency. As a consequence, all responsible authorities have to carry out prevention and control measures according to the provisions of the International Sanitary Regulation and the recommendations of the World Health Organization. That means actively detecting the suspected cases of disease and ensuring the daily exchange of information with the National Agency for Public Health (NAPH), <a href=\"https:\/\/msmps.gov.md\/ro\/content\/viorica-dumbraveanu-indemn-populatia-sa-manifeste-maxima-responsabilitate-si-sa-respecte\">informed<\/a> the official page of the\u00a0Ministry of Health, Labour and Social Protection (MHLSP).<\/p>\n<p>In this regard, the following measures are announced as put into action:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>People who are currently crossing border checkpoints are thoroughly checked<\/strong>, and if they present symptoms, they are isolated in special designated rooms, the National Agency for Public Health being announced;<\/li>\n<li>On the Chisinau International Airport, <strong>a thermoscan is used to identify the persons who are at risk of infection;<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>Likewise, all public health institutions have the necessary stock of medicines and medical equipment, and the NAPH Laboratory has received <strong>480 tests for the detection of COVID-19 virus and 192 tests for specifying and confirming the result;<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>public announcements are issued urging the population to comply\u00a0with all hygiene and precautionary measures to prevent new-type of coronavirus disease or acute respiratory infections, to be cooperative at border checkpoints and to notify the NAPH in case of presenting symptoms.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Prime Minister Ion Chicu called the <span style=\"color: #993300\">meeting of the extraordinary National Public Health Commission<\/span>. That should have been already done. In addition to all the measures that are required to be implemented in such situations, it is necessary to create a Task Force at the Embassy of the Republic of Moldova in Italy, to which the ministries in charge will delegate concrete tasks. The ministry and the NAPH should urgently contact the Italian health authorities for information exchange that would help to stop the spread of coronavirus,&#8221;<\/em> declared former Minister of Health, Labour and Social Protection, Ala Nemerenco.<\/p>\n<p>The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration recommends to the citizens of the Republic of Moldova who are in Italy to strictly follow the indications of the Italian authorities regarding the current epidemiological situation.<\/p>\n<p>People are asked to refrain from travelling, attending public places, they should leave the house only in cases of strict necessity, as well as take the necessary actions regarding hygiene and disinfection.
