Below are presented some of the survey&#8217;s outcomes:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"color: #993300\">75% of respondents said that women should pay more attention to their family than to their careers;<\/span><\/li>\n<li>73% believe that marriage, children, grandchildren should not be postponed in life;<\/li>\n<li>23% believe that decision-making is a man&#8217;s prerogative <span style=\"color: #000080\">( while 73% believe that both are responsible for this task);<\/span><\/li>\n<li>28% of respondents said that raising and educating a child is the woman&#8217;s responsibility<span style=\"color: #000080\"> (71% said that both are responsible);<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #993300\">59% of respondents from Chi\u0219in\u0103u\u00a0said that housekeeping is the woman&#8217;s responsibility;<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #993300\">72% consider that only women should take childcare leave from their jobs.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000080\">However, 75% of respondents stated that they are ok with living together before marriage, and<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000080\">65% of respondents said that it is normal for a man to cry.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>As the survey presented, <span style=\"color: #993300\">55% of Chi\u0219in\u0103u&#8217;s population is against LGBT people<\/span>, 37% have a neutral attitude and 7% support LGBT representatives. The percentage though, is not up to 98%, as some politicians promote. <em>&#8220;The more LGBT people would open their identities and would tell people who they are, the more people will support them. The main reason of fear and judgement is the lack of knowledge,\u201d<\/em> explained <strong>Angelica Frolov<\/strong>, the representative of the GENDERDOC-M Information Center.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"color: #993300\">65% of the survey respondents stated that same-sex marriages should not be legalised<\/span>, while 5% supported these kind of marriages and 26% of the respondents are neutral or do not have an opinion on this subject;<\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000080\">The majority (69%) indicated that LGBT people should have the right<\/span> <em>&#8220;to do whatever they want, but at home, as long as no one sees them&#8221;;<\/em><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000080\">18% say that organising public events should be a right granted to LGBT people as well;<\/span><\/li>\n<li>71% of respondents said that the most discriminated people are based on their sexual orientation, being followed by the discrimination based on ethnicity;<\/li>\n<li>Of the interviewees, <span style=\"color: #000080\">10% said they know an LGBT person &#8211; 2% said that that person is part of the circle of friends they regularly see.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<hr \/>\n<p>In\u00a0 a 2015 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.undp.org\/content\/dam\/unct\/moldova\/docs\/pub\/RO_Studiu%20Perceptii%202015_FINAL_2016%20Febr%2025_Imprimat.pdf\">study<\/a> conducted by the\u00a0<strong>Council for Prevention and Elimination of Discrimination and Ensuring Equality in Moldova<\/strong> and the<strong> Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights<\/strong>, in consultation with the <strong>United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) Moldova<\/strong>, the stereotypical attitude of Moldovan people towards the sexual minorities representatives was examined through a focus group and a survey.<\/p>\n<p>According to the study, the Moldovan society seems to be particularly<span style=\"color: #993300\"> categorical<\/span> in terms of perceptions and attitudes towards people from<br \/>\nthe LGBT group. The LGBT group members are often <span style=\"color: #993300\">rejected<\/span> by the vast majority of population. The participants in the focus groups\u00a0 showed merely a <span style=\"color: #993300\">revolting and aggressive<\/span> attitude towards LGBT members.
