The statement was made after a meeting with Prime Minister Maia Sandu. According to the European official, the EU will firmly support a government that has the capacity and willingness to change Moldova for the sake of the citizens of the country<\/p>\n

“We will firmly support a Government that has the capacity and the will to change Moldova for the sake of the citizens of the country. It is important to unblock the macro-financial assistance. This new initiative is welcome in order to amplify our support because we see that there is real political will right now, especially in terms of creating an independent judiciary and enhancing the processes of transparency and strengthening of integrity,” the European official said.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

In turn, Maia Sandu stressed that human rights, the return to democratic practices and the creation of opportunities for citizens<\/strong> are absolute priorities for the Government.<\/p>\n

Reminder:<\/strong> The European Parliament has sent a delegation of MEPs to Chisinau to assess the political situation in the Republic of Moldova and to exchange views with the new government of the country.
