We are interested in having a stable government, based on a majority government, so that politicians can work together to improve citizens&#8217; living standards,&#8221; the EU commissioner said.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>The European Commissioner has also stressed that all of the three parties need to hold talks and join forces for the benefit of the citizens. However, Hahn excluded the Shor Party from the equation, noting that the European Union has a particular &#8220;impression&#8221; on this party. Moreover, Hahn said that it is important for the EU that the new Government be committed to democracy and the rule of law.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>&#8220;We will evaluate the next Government depending on its actions. It does not matter what is on paper, but what steps are being taken to bring the country closer to democracy and rule of law,&#8221; the European Commissioner added.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Hahn also told journalists that he had meetings with Prime Minister Pavel Filip and President Igor Dodon, and the head of state assured him that he remains committed to the provisions of the Association Agreement.<\/p>\n<p>Most importantly,\u00a0Johannes Hahn believes that <strong>in case of early elections, the International Monetary Fund could suspend the financial assistance program for Moldova.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>As for the resumption of<strong> the \u20ac 100,000,000 assistance<\/strong>, the European Commissioner said that it would be disbursed after the government had fulfilled a list of reforms handed to PM Pavel Filip on September 2018 in New York, in the margin of the UN General Assembly session.<\/p>\n<p>Following a meeting between the two officials, Johannes Hahn wrote on his Facebook page that he handed to the prime minister a list of reforms that urgently need to be implemented by the Government of Chisinau, which, under the rule of oligarch Plahotniuc&#8217;s Democratic Party, could perhaps be impossible to achieve.
